Gabriella Angeles at LA Black Film Festival 2025 — Screening "I Said, No"

Gabriella Angeles (née Wiltz) is a writer, director, and creative producer from Chicago, IL. Her passion for studying humanity, character-driven stories, and transmuting her embodied experiences as a Black, queer, woman with 20+ years of dance experience are the anchors of her work. Gabriella uses film to explore the complexities of Black womanhood, often with themes of movement and love at the forefront. I Said, No, a short dance film she directed about consent in the Latin dance and nightlight cultures, has screened in numerous festivals in Chicago and Los Angeles. Her narrative short film, This Doesn’t Last Forever, screened as a part of the Our Right to Gaze shorts program in partnership with Full Spectrum Features in 2023.

Gabriella received her MFA in Production/Directing at UCLA in 2023 and is currently based in LA.
